Westleigh
House Farm is a 300 acre working sheep and arable farm. The house is Victorian,
with an open oak wood staircase and large spacious rooms. We have a large lawn
and veranda with outside seating and plenty of toys and games for the children.
There is plenty of off road parking. There is a woodburner in the dining room
for cosy winter evenings.
SITUATION We are situated between the town of Bideford and the seaside
village of Instow. Westleigh is a quiet picturesque village which lies beside
the River Torridge. We also have the Tarka Trail with 21 miles of cycle track
only half a mile away.
THINGS
TO DO If cycling or building sandcastles are not your cup of tea, then there
are plenty of attractions nearby. For the young (and for the young at heart)
there are the theme parks, The Big Sheep or The Milky Way. At Torrington visit
the Dartington Crystal factory or the beautiful Royal Horticultural Society's
Rosemoor Gardens. Bideford also has the newly opened Atlantic Village, a fully
covered shopping mall offering massive savings on famous brand names. The
beautiful town of Barnstaple (winners of the Britain in Bloom competition) is
also just 7 miles away.
ACCOMMODATION We have two family rooms, each sleeping four people. One room
is ensuite with shower and the other has an adjacent private bathroom. Both
rooms are tastefully decorated, have heaters, colour TV and tea/coffee making
facilities.
FOOD We offer a
varied breakfast menu which includes a farmhouse English breakfast (for the very
hungry) or for the more health conscious, strawberry & oatmeal smoothie. Evening
meals are available if requested in advance or there is an excellent local pub
offering a wide menu, within walking distance.
