Minutes of the Meeting of Westleigh Parish Council held in the Village Hall, Westleigh 3rd December 2008 at 7.30pm.

Present: Cllrs.B.Marshall, (Chairman), Mrs.M.Parks, (Vice Chairman), P.Fronteras, J.May, W.J.Dart.

1208/01: Apologies: Cllr.J.Craze.

1208/02: Police Report:
PC.T.Hodgson apologised for being unable to attend the Parish Council Meeting, but a report was received by the Clerk.
There have been 8.no.Logs recorded during the period 03/11/2008 and 03/12/2008.
6.no.Logs, Road Traffic related.

1.no. Information to Police Log.
PC.Hodgson hopes that the community have noticed an enhanced police presence throughout the parish.

1208/03: Minutes of the Meeting held on the 5th.November. 2008.
Proposed by Cllr.P.Fronteras and Seconded by Cllr.W.Dart that the minutes be agreed as a correct record, and signed by the Chairman accordingly.

1208/04: Matters Arising.
(A). Memorial Garden and Bus Shelter.
There were no items for discussion.

(B). Westleigh Website.
Cllr.P.Fronteras advised the Parish Council that the Website was used widely within the UK and Overseas.

1208/05: 15 Minutes for Parishioners Questions.
There were no questions.

1208/06: County and District Council Reports.
Devon County Councillor Mr.R.Cann apologised for being unable to attend the Parish Council Meeting.
There was no report.
North Devon District Councillor Mr.B.Moores apologised for being unable to attend the Parish Council Meeting due to ill health.
There was nothing to report.

1208/07: Correspondence.
Correspondence was received from St.Peters Church, Westleigh regarding any objection the Parish Council would have against a notice board outside the church.
RESOLVED. The Parish Council had no objections.
Correspondence was also received from St.Peters Church with a request for the Annual Parish Grant towards the maintenance of the Church Burial Ground.
RESOLVED. The Parish Grant would be made payable to St.Peters Church.
A copy of all correspondence received was made available to all councillors.
RESOLVED that all correspondence be noted.

1208/08: Finance.

1). INCOME. Nil

2). EXPENDITURE FOR AUTHORISATION AND PAYMENT.
A copy of expenditure was presented to Councillors.
RESOLVED. that the expenditure of £67.90 be approved and accounts paid accordingly.

3). Application for 2009/2010 Precept and Parish Grant to be with North Devon District Council by the 12th.December 2008.

The Clerk has informed North Devon District Council regarding the resignation of Cllr.Mr.M.Hudson as a Parish Councillor, and await their guidance.
