MINUTES of the Meeting of WESTLEIGH PARISH COUNCIL held in
the Village Hall , Westleigh, on Tuesday 7th Sept. 2005 at 7.30 p.m.

0905/3 Minutes of the Meeting held on 12th July. 2005.
Resolved that the minutes of the Meeting held on 12th July. 2005 be agreed as a
correct record and signed by the Chairman.
0905/4 Matters Arising
Car Parking . Eastleigh.
With reference to the July minutes, Cllr. B. Marshall indicated that in order to
clarify his comments concerning the problem of cars parking on the public
highway in Eastleigh he would welcome the assistance of the local planning
department.
When considering planning applications within the village, the provision of “off
road parking” was essential if the situation is to be improved.
Memorial Garden / General Maintenance
The clerk had been informed that fouling by dogs around the parish seats and
other areas within Westleigh village appeared to be on the increase.
This problem was making the maintenance of the grass most unpleasant and
unhygienic for both the contractor cutting the grass and the public in general.
The parish council would be pleased to receive any information on the matter
that might lead to the prosecution of owners allowing their dogs to foul the
public highway.
The clerk was requested to approach Mr Souster regarding the work required on
the Memorial Garden.
The clerk was asked to obtain quotations from two or three contractors for the
re-roofing of the bus shelter on the south side of the B3233
Westleigh Website
Nothing to report.
The chairman Cllr P. Fronteras again proposed that with the increasing costs of
the Website, additional contributors should be sought.
Undergrounding of Cables
Nothing further to report.
Westleigh Parish Heritage Forum
Nothing to report.
It was suggested by the Chairman that it might be appropriate for Westleigh to
become more involved with the Instow summer show.
To be discussed again prior to next year’s show.

expenditure totalling £269.26 be approved and accounts be paid accordingly.
