0902/2 Police Report
P.C. Ringrose the Community Policeman has not yet been replaced
0902/3 Minutes of the Meeting held 3dJuly 2002.
RESOLVED that the minutes of the Meeting held on 3"l July 2002 to be agreed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.
0902/4 Matters Arising
Parish Paths Partnership.
Following a brief discussion, it was proposed to allow more time for
consideration and the matter be placed on the October- agenda.
Visibility onto B3233.
Continue to pursue the matter.
Co-option of new Councillor.
Clerk to provide further information to prospective candidates.
0902/5 Parishioners Questions.
There were no questions from parishioners
0902/6 County & District Reports.
Councillor R-Cann reported that now the A39. road had become the
responsibility of DCC a programme of Surveys/ investigation and Monitoring would
be undertaken to consider future improvements, including the Westleigh junction.
Councillor L. Brown reported that although NDDC was very active at present there was nothing that would directly affect Westleigh parish
0902/7 Parking / Play Area.
Still awaiting response from Christie Estate.
0902/8 Undergrounding of Cables.
B. Marshall had received a letter from NDDC together with
information on a similar project at North Tawton. The Clerk was asked to
provide copies for all councilors and the subject to be discussed at the
next meeting.
0902/9 Correspondence.
A copy of all correspondence was made available to all Councillors.
Resolved that correspondence be noted.
Councillor M.Cumiskey will respond to the questionnaire on the racial equality scheme on behalf of the Council.
Community Tranport Association
The Clerk to invite the Project Officer to attend a parish meeting to discuss transport problems within the parish.

Clerk to contact the Community Punishment Project Officer for further
information,
0902/10 Finance
A copy of expenditure was presented to Councillors
Resolved that the expenditure totalling £80 for July and fIO4.22 for August be
approved and accounts be paid accordingly.
The Clerk reported on the completion of the 2000-2001 Audit; and that he will be
responding to matters arising from the audit.
It was also reported that the Audit for year ended March 2002was to be
undertaken in October 2002.
It was brought to the
attention of the council that the War Memorial was not insured.
the matter was discussed by the council and on being informed that to insure the
Memorial against all risks for f5OOO would cost approx 150 P-A. it was resolved
not to insure it.

It was decided to review the situation it the October meeting

Community Planning
Meeting.
The Chairman reported that the meeting held on the 24t" July had with leading
Councillors and Officers of NDDC had proved to be a useful exercise.
It allowed the Chairman to set out the various proposals and priorities of
Westleigh Parish
